Roman Stephens
Senior Vice President, Multifamily
Roman serves as the Senior Vice President of Multifamily where he has responsibility for the oversight, direction and development of Northland’s multifamily property management operations. In his role, Roman develops long-term strategies for the portfolio’s overall performance. Roman provides essential leadership and guidance to the corporate, regional and community teams including more than 500 multifamily employees to establish and communicate best standards for operational, financial, and service excellence. As a member of the executive leadership team, Roman contributes towards the Company’s overall business strategy and execution.
Roman has a tenure of 20 years’ experience in the real estate investment industry. Roman joined Northland having spent 10 years at Camden Property Trust with the last three as the Vice President of Operations. Roman led his team through complex business challenges and drove the strategic vision for the firm’s Operations division, overseeing a 19,000-unit portfolio in Houston, Dallas, Austin, Denver, Corpus Christi and Atlanta. In his time at Camden, Stephens led five of the firm’s divisions and managed a team of over 500 members, working cross-functionally with the Investments Group, Asset Management, Construction, Finance and Marketing departments to ensure his long-term goal of operational excellence and unification of strategy across teams. Prior to his time at Camden, Stephens was an Asset Manager at Hines Interest L.P.
Roman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Howard University, along with a Master of Business Administration in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin. A longtime Texas resident, Roman is now based in Massachusetts with his spouse, Patrice, and their four children.
