Northland Promotes Key Members of Investment Team Amid Continued and Significant Portfolio Growth

Renowned multifamily owner and operator promotes Mike Campbell, Andy Young and Andrew Conti in recognition of their contributions to the firm’s success

NEWTON, MA (January 27, 2021) – Northland Investment Corporation, one of the country’s premier real estate private equity firms with $7B of assets under management, today announced the promotions of three professionals within its Investments department, recognizing their outstanding impact on the firm’s continued successful expansion across the country.

Mike Campbell promoted to Associate Vice President | Acquisitions.
Campbell joined Northland in 2011 and has proven himself an instrumental member of the Acquisitions team over the past decade. Mike has contributed to several of the firm’s most significant financial advancements, such as developing Northland’s portfolio management and multi-factor risk model, leading the firm’s entry into Denver, supporting its continued growth in Austin and directly overseeing over $2B in refinancing transactions.  In his new role, Mike will lead the Investments department and co-run the Acquisition team with Director Andy Young.

Andy Young promoted to Director | Investments.
After joining the team in 2016 as an intern, Young quickly grew into his role as an Acquisition Analyst. Andy is a key member of the Northland team, assisting in more than $1B in acquisitions, leading the assembly of Northland’s 2,000-unit New Mexico portfolio, supporting the company’s entrance into Georgia and stewarding the successful investment of Northland Fund VI.  In his new role, Andy will co-run the Acquisition team with Mike Campbell and oversee Northland’s acquisition efforts in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Georgia and Central/North Florida.

Andrew Conti promoted to Director | Investments.
In his five years at the firm, Conti has fundamentally transformed how Northland develops, analyzes and evaluates its portfolio and risk management strategies. Andrew has contributed to nearly all of Northland’s major investment decisions over the past four years, including the formation of Northland Ventures, the investment approach for Northland Fund VII and creation of new portfolio management strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic.  In his new role, Andrew will take a leadership role over fund-level projections, long-term strategic planning, portfolio management and risk analysis.

“Mike Campbell, Andy Young and Andrew Conti have proven themselves as effective leaders and brilliant investment professionals during their tenure at Northland,” said Matthew Gottesdiener, Northland’s Chief Investment Officer. “We are proud to recognize their hard work, dedication to our firm’s success and astronomical growth in their respective roles over the past few years, and are eager to see what they achieve in the future.”
