Northland started construction for this $165 million project in June 2004 and completed it in September 2006. Hartford 21 is a major urban revitalization project that includes a 36-story luxury residential tower with 262 multifamily units, 160,000 square feet of retail and office space, 2 parking garages with 816 parking spaces and 35,000 square feet of public space. In order to finance this mixed-use landmark, Northland’s development team forged partnerships with the City of Hartford, the State of Connecticut and private institutions resulting in a complex public/private partnership. 

Hartford 21 has received a number of awards including: 2006 High-Rise Community of the Year from the Connecticut Apartment Association and the 2007 Grand Prize Blue Ribbon Award from the Connecticut Real Estate Exchange.
